Richard Broeker Obituary

Richard L. Broeker, 66, of Washington, passed away on December 13, 2021. Mr. Broeker, son of the late David V. Broeker and Anna H. nee Eckelkamp, was born on October 2, 1955 in Washington. He received his education from Washington High School.

He loved to fish, especially trout. Wood cutting and sausage making were two activities he loved to do with family. He loved collecting Ertl tractors.

Mr. Broeker was preceded in death by his parents; two siblings, Gilbert Broeker and Mary Emke; two nephews, Paul Gerner and Mike Emke, and one great-nephew, Danny Lottmann.

Among his survivors are three children, Charity Broeker of Washington, Matthew Broeker and wife Cynthia of St. Clair, and Jamie Broeker of Florissant; siblings, Glennon “Butch” Broeker of Marthasville, Vera Gerner Taylor and husband Terry of Washington, and Dale Broeker and wife Valerie of Union; grandchildren, David Pehle and wife Samantha, Nick Pehle and wife Aly, Brittany Pehle and significant other Cody Pendegraft, Gavin McGlenn, Hayden McGlenn, Makayla McGlenn, Anthony Broeker, and Johanna Caldwell; great-grandchildren, Connor Pehle, Grayson Pehle, Evan Goodmon, and Rayna Pendegraft; In-laws, George Emke and Myrtle Broeker; other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 from 3-6 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home, with a prayer service beginning at 5:30 p.m. Memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
