Michael Fischer Sr. Obituary

Michael William Fischer, Sr., of Dutzow, MO, was called home to heaven on Monday November 28, 2022 after a 21 year long battle with Parkinson’s disease.  Mike, son of the late Alfred Guy Fischer and Shirley Mae nee Wunderlich, was born on April 25, 1954 in Washington, MO.  He received his education from Washington High School and East Central College.  He managed Wehmueller’s Hardware Store before joining his father at Fischer Oil Company.

Mike married the love of his life Sharon Ann Sullinger on May 9, 1981 at St. Francis Borgia Church.  They enjoyed 41 wonderful, exciting, and fun-filled years together.  They raised 3 children, Jessica Rose Dendauw, married to Jonathan; Jaclyn Rae Hardin, married to Scott; and Michael William Jr.  He was grandfather to Liam and Lola Dendauw and Finn Hardin.

Mike Fischer was many things.  He was a great jokester.  He loved hearing jokes, telling jokes, and playing practical jokes on friends and family.  Mike was a primo party planner.  He was the host with the most and always made sure that everyone was having a good time.   Mike was an avid outdoorsman.  Each year, he eagerly looked forward to deer season.  He enjoyed the comradery of his brothers, nephews, and cousins and the time he spent in nature.  But above all, he was a loving husband and father who will be missed dearly by those who loved him most.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Alfred G. Fischer, his sister, Sarah Katherine, and his in-laws, Dale and Dorothy Sullinger.

Among his survivors are his mother, Shirley Fischer, and his siblings Dale Fischer and wife Micki of Edwardsville, IL, Rosanne Fischer of Union, MO, William Fischer and wife Linda of Washington, MO, Al Fischer and wife Nancy of Washington, MO, and Christopher Fischer and wife Jennifer of Union, MO, many nieces and nephews, and his close friends and confidantes at Fischer Oil.
