Leonard “Red” C. Doorack Sr., 90 , of Labadie, passed away on September 14, 2022. Mr. Doorack, son of the late Andrew Doorack and Laverna nee Wheeler, was born on July 31, 1932 in Reydon, OK. He received his education from Eugene Coyle High School in Kirkwood. On December 1, 1951, he was united in marriage to Marjorie Williams. Mr. Doorack was employed as a stone mason his entire life.
Leonard’s greatest joy in life, was spending time with his family. In his younger years, he was an avid hunter. He also loved blacksmithing and feeding the birds in the summer and winter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marjorie Doorack and granddaughter, Julie Doorack.
Among his survivors are seven children, Karen Stephan and husband Bob of Barnhart, MO, Leonard Doorack Jr. and wife Karen of Labadie, Ted Doorack and wife Denice of Union, Andrew Doorack and wife Lynn of Labadie, Theresa Eckelkamp and husband Mark of Union, Virginia Jones and husband Larry of Spring Hill, KS and Senora Cressman of Jefferson City, MO; 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022 from 3-7 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at St. John’s Gildehaus Church, with interment in the church cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimers Disease Research Foundation.
