Jacqueline D. “Jackie” Miller, nee Post, 85, of Washington, died peacefully Monday, June 27th, 2022. She was born June 13th, 1937 to Dr. and Mrs. John P. Post. She was united in marriage to the late Dr. Francis J. Miller on August 2nd, 1958. She received her education at St. Francis Borgia Grade School and High School, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Fontbonne University, and a Master’s Degree in Pedagogy at Webster University. She taught piano to many students from preschool to postgraduate level until retirement, and continued to teach students at her home.
A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Jackie is survived by her six children, Judith Post, Francis Miller , Michelle Scheipeter (Matt), John Miller, Robert Miller (Jill), and Dr. Jacqueline Miller (Tim Huber); 12 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Evelyn Lakebrink (nee Post), sister-in-law Marianna Post Schwane, and brother in-law Robert Miller.
She was a member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church and loved being a member of their choir. Passionate about wildlife and nature, she donated the acreage for the Miller-Post Nature Reserve. She was also actively involved in the Marbach am Neckar sister city program, and the Washington Federation of Republican Women; serving in several leadership positions at the local and state levels.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Francis Miller, parents Dr. John & Mimi Post; sister, Maryn Struckhoff; brothers Dr. John Post and David Post.
A visitation will be held at Nieburg-Vitt Miller Funeral Home on Saturday, July 9th from 9 AM to 11 AM, followed by a mass at noon at St. Francis Borgia Church. A luncheon and remembrance of life will follow at Jesuit Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Washington Overseas Mission and School Sisters of Notre Dame (Honduras Fund).
