Erna V. Borcherding

Erna V. Borcherding, 94 , of Washington, passed away on February 28, 2022. Mrs. Borcherding, daughter of the late Julius Vohs and Ida nee Glaser, was born on July 26, 1927 in Owensville. She received her education from Owensville High School, graduating in 1945. On August 20, 1949, she was united in marriage to Alfred Borcherding at St. Peter’s U.C.C. in Owensville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alfred Borcherding and four siblings, Henry Vohs, Alvin Vohs, Frances Seal, and Lauralie Mohesky.

Among her survivors are three children, Brad Borcherding and wife Lolita of New Haven, Kim Lapeyre of Washington, and Lisa Housson and husband Joe B. of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Greg Cox and wife Jackie of Pine, CO, Elizabeth Jasper and husband Jeff of Wentzville, Christopher Lapeyre of Fulton, Jonathan Lapeyre and fiance Brenda Cisneros of College Station, TX, Ryan Lapeyre of Washington, Jacob Housson and wife Lindsey of Cypress, TX, and Tracy Kepp and husband Travis of Pinehurst, TX; fourteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022 from 1-3 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home, with a memorial service beginning at 3 p.m. Memorial donations can be made to the Franklin County Honor Flight or charity of choice.
