Dorsey Amburgy

Dorsey Amburgy, 92, of Washington, passed away on July 31, 2020. Dorsey was born on October 26, 1927, to his parents Curt Amburgy and Lucille nee Burns. He proudly served his country during World War II. On June 3, 1950, he married his wife Irene nee Quernheim, in Kirkwood.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Irene Amburgy; sons, Leonard, Charles, and Russell Amburgy; 5 sisters; and 3 brothers.

He is survived by his children, Roger Amburgy of Missouri, Joyce Webb of Nebraska, Polly Eye and husband Mike of Missouri, and Michael Amburgy and wife Susie of Missouri; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2020, from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow the visitation, at 1:00 pm. Rev. Paul Scheperle will be the officiant. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
