Dixie Kottwitz Obituary

Dixie L. Kottwitz ,78 , of Washington, passed away on May 23, 2021. Mrs. Kottwitz, daughter of the late Marvin Buescher and his wife Helen nee Schroeder, was born on May 26, 1942 in Washington. She received her education from Washington High School. On August 25, 1984, she was united in marriage to Howard L. Kottwitz.

She completed courses in Secretarial/Receptionist skills at Patricia Stevens School, modeling, massage and reflexology. 

Dixie worked as a car hop at A&W and also worked as a secretary at Buescher’s Wholesale for many years.

Dixie was an avid floral decorator and long-time member of the Royal Neighbors, Garden Club, and Iris Club and created hundreds of arrangements in her lifetime for competitions, community organizations, friends, and family.  

She was a member of the St. Peter’s U.C.C. in Washington.

Mrs. Kottwitz was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Howard L. Kottwitz.

Among her survivors are her brother, Daniel M. Buescher and wife Marybelle of Washington; nephews, Douglas Buescher and wife Michelle Tebo, Michael Buescher; niece, Michelle Ferguson and husband Doug Ferguson; great-nieces and nephews, Daniel S. Buescher, Julia Buescher, Brookelle Buescher, Drew Buescher, Breanna Buescher, Eli Ferguson, and Bethany Buescher; treasured friends and extended family.

A memorial service will be held on June 6, 2021 at 3 P.M. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home with a visitation immediately following the service. Interment was in the St. Peter’s U.C.C. Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to St. Peter's UCC, Pilgrim UCC or charity of choice.
