Arlene Jasper Moll was finally reunited with her beloved husband Charles, after she passed away on August 24, 2021, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy with active community involvement, charitable contributions, and the pursuit of lifelong education.
Born on April 22, 1936, Arlene led a life that was far from ordinary. As a young woman, she left home and married Charles Philip Moll, Jr. on June 25, 1955, and they spent 33 blissful years together until his death in 1988. She is survived by her three children, Rick (Joy), Ron (Linda), and Pamela (Bill), her four grandchildren, Andrew (Mandy), LJ, Philip (Gabbi), and Alex. She was also blessed to know her three great-grandchildren, Sam, Annie, and Will.
Arlene caught the international travel bug after celebrating her 40th birthday in Malaga, Spain, and spent many years traipsing the globe with Charles. She extended her love of travel to her grandchildren, who were happy to perform their duties as her trusty sidekicks.
Arlene lived through many major historical events of the 20th and 21st centuries – including the assassination of JFK, attending the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago, the fall of the Berlin Wall, and the attacks of September 11, 2001. She had an enduring affinity for politics, including acting as President of the Democratic Women’s Ninth Congressional District, which kept her mind sharp to the very end. She always enjoyed a rousing discussion of the news of the day or the prospects of the hot-shot politician of the moment. Arlene spent hours consuming books that spanned the political spectrum, with new releases often awaiting her at the local library. She set a goal a few years ago to read one biography a week of each President, in the order they were in office, which she finished ahead of schedule (to the surprise of no one).
