Dorothy “Annette” Ruether, 79 , of Union, passed away on October 1, 2021. Mrs. Ruether, daughter of the late Solomon Johnson and his wife Dorothy nee Jolly, was born on February 21, 1942 in Poplar Bluff. She received her education from Washington High School. On June 24, 1961, she was united in marriage to James “Jim” Ruether at the St. Francis Borgia Church.
Mrs. Ruether was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim Ruether; brother, William “Bill” Johnson, and brother-in-law, Ralph Brinker.
Among her survivors are three children, Debbie Puls and husband Ken of Leslie, James “Jim” Ruether and wife Laurie of Union, and Jason Ruether and wife Gina of Beaufort; sister, Jeanette Brinker of Washington; grandchildren, Travis Puls, Alex Puls, Zachary Ruether, Alexis Alfermann, Sam Ruether, and Isaac Ruether; great-grandchildren, Ella Puls, Ken Puls, and Henry Puls; sister-in-law, Vivian Johnson; other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 from 11 A.M. – 1 P.M. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 1 P.M.. Interment will be in the St. Peter’s Cemetery in Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Union Kiwanis Club or Franklin County CASA.
